A Farm In Danger

In a Brooklyn inner-city community residents are fighting to keep their farm. The Bed-Stuy farm, once a neighborhood garbage dump, was transformed into an urban oasis that produces over 7000 lbs of fresh food every year, helping feed more than 4000 people a month through an emergency food pantry. The farm is a source of community pride that has inspired neighborhood greening, backyard food gardening and food pantry agriculture projects. It is a constant reminder to residents that better nutrition and healthy eating are within our grasp. Now, though, the farm is threatened by development. Watch the video and learn how you can help preserve the Bed-Stuy Farm.
